Our Paua students tutoring our Kina students today.
Kath Joblin - August 27, 2020
Mr Webster has been training our student leaders to be teachers and guides for our Kina students. Today they were sharing electronic kits with the Year 4s, encouraging them to try out all the components so they can follow the instructions about putting circuits together. Tomorrow the seniors are going to be working with the Pipi team.
Our teachers select kits which will increase the experiences and learning opportunities under the umbrella of the term planning focus - which in Term 3 is light and heat. The kits are provided by the House of Science in Tauranga. Our school pays for a license to use various kits throughout the year. Fortunately this means that we don't need to keep an extensive science resource room and the HOS replenish useables each time a school returns their kits. The House of Science is supported by the TCC and various charities.
