Having Baywave Aquatic Centre right next door has been a real blessing for the flippaball teams who can fit in early morning practices and still make it to class well before the bell.

We want to celebrate Thomas in this story. Thomas took part in his first Water polo Tournament over the holidays in Rotorua playing for Tauranga Water Polo Under 12.

While his team didn’t get a podium placing they displayed great sportsmanship and determination throughout the tournament and really enjoyed it.

Also playing for Tauranga Under 12 but in a different team were STM 2019 leavers/ex students Fern Donald, Maggie Glubb and Ronan Deering.

Waterpolo is strong at Aquinas and teams have always had a high number of STM leavers. Kiahi Horan is a great example of where waterpolo can lead. Kiahi has been offered scholarships to attend LaSalle University in the US to follow a business studies major with waterpolo as his main sport.
