At the beginning of each year we hold a Parent, Teacher and Student Whanaungatanga/Connection Day where students, parents get an opportunity to meet with their child's teacher prior to the start of the year. They discuss strategies to support students at home and they provide an overview of the curriculum in each class.
If you have any concerns at any time about how your child’s learning is progressing, please contact your child’s teacher through email because this is the easiest way to get information across quickly. Teachers will then be able to set up times for you to meet.
A mid year report is written for each child and will be shared with you prior to Parent/Teacher Meetings towards the end of term 2.
The middle and senior school will be arranging Student Led Conferences for term 3. These are opportunities for your child to share their learning with you.
A final report is sent home at the end of term 4 and we encourage parents to talk with teachers so that the transition to the next class is smooth and that children are supported if coping with change.
As part of our commitment to build partnerships and relationships between school and home our school board arranges consultation evenings e.g. to discuss the strategic direction of the school and the school charter. At the beginning of term 2 our whanau roopu meets to discuss events and activities to recognise Matariki. Our school board and staff would really appreciate if whanau joined us for Kai and Korero.
