It's camp week - the most exciting week of the year.

Our Year 5 and 6 students left this morning for a three night camp in the Kaimai Ranges - Ngamuwahine Lodge.
We have been so fortunate over the last 18 years to have a week at Ngamuwahine Lodge - Tauranga Intermediate Trust runs the camp and maintains the facilities with the help of old boys of the school. The directors always reserve the last week of the year for our school.
This morning our campers left early to join the traffic out of town. It was interesting to see how many bags one child needs for four days in the bush. Looking around you can see the families who go camping regularly and the families who don't. For some of our Year 5 and 6 students this is the first time away from their families.
We are really lucky to have parents who have been to camp before with their older children in previous years: Bart Zame, Charles Latu, Kirsty Muir, Darren Link, Paul Anderson.
This year Andrea Colebourn and Mark Nicholls are the new camp parents. The team is co-ordinated by Mrs Thomas with Miss Aindow learning alongside.
The last time Miss Aindow went to Ngamuwahine was when she was a Year 6 student at our school ( in the olden days).
During the week Mrs Thomas will be posting photos on facebook - so please check in each night to see what our campers have been up to.
