Before the crowds arrived our senior students helped the organizers set up the signage around Arataki Park.
Setup has earned our seniors a special swimming day in the last week of school - one of the advantages of where our school is situated.
For the last four years St Thomas More has been asked to do the signage and setup - and this arrangement means we earn enough for a swim day at Baywave for Paua team.
On Sunday several of our Year 2-4 students showed grit and determination by biking, running and swimming in the Weetbix tryathlon. It was a rainy day and there were thousands of competitors. It was daunting trying to figure out what to do and where to go.
The Weetbix tryathlon organisers are so experienced and capable that everything runs very smoothly.
The response from our children was fantastic. They all grew from the experience and are looking at the next tryathlon with confidence and enthusiasm.
