Junior Theatre Sports 2019
Junior Theatre Sports 2019
Every year 3 to 5 juniors take part in the annual Theatresports competition run by the Court Theatre. Theatresports is a cultural activity in which we stand up on a stage and perform a scene with only one “ask for” (place, relationship, item, occupation etc.) and our brains.
There are three rounds in a competition: blind round (we are given our game), choice round (we get to choose our game) and a challenge round (we get to choose our game, but are given a challenge like “good wins over evil”).
This year we trained hard in the 3rd and 4th terms. We were in the classroom with Mrs Gaffaney every lunch time honing our skills and with the help of old boy Pawel Gall and 2020 leader Daniel Fogarty we were able to get a foot over the competition.
Unluckily we ended up coming 3rd in our heat after our final Taranaki cult scene. Next year all four of us are moving up to senior division and are hoping for the best. We encourage anyone interested to jump in and give it a shot. You will be surprised how much fun you will have.
