In the end ... second place.

Under 15 Sth Island Secondary Schools Rugby 7s

Timaru ... on Tuesday, the 28th March a selected Under 15s Rugby sevens team went down to Timaru to compete in the South Island Secondary Schools Championship that was held at Alpine Energy Stadium. 

The tournament was set over two days and they team had big expectations to fill as defending champions. Day one saw the boys comfortably beat Cashmere High School and Mount Hutt College by big margins. Then the team meet an extremely strong St Andrews College team losing 24-12. The boys still had a good chance of taking out the competition on day two if Christchurch Boys high could beat St Andrews, however that was not to be. This meant the team would face Roncalli, then Boys High to determine if they would come second or third. 

The game against Roncalli College was won by another big margin setting up a second and third playoff between our boys and Boys High. The intensity of our team was outstanding with the boys comfortably winning the game 24-7 and showing great passion, aggression and skill to come second overall. 

Some standout players were Kole Harmer, Montell Peppard, AJ Abdelaal and Tafao Peleti.
