MABM

Jack Mayo —

Making Brad Proud.

An absolutely tragic year for the MABM boys this year with the passing of St Thomas Legend, Mr Brad Milne.

The boys were absolutely shocked and devastated at the news, with the likes of Jackson and Kieran being in the MABM mentoring group for 7 years under the loving care of Mr Milne.

Mr Milne taught me when I was at St Thomas, so to be able to step into such a legendary mentoring class was an absolute honour, when I found out I would be carrying on Brad’s work with the lads, I was excited and rearing to get to work.

This year we welcomed, Oliver Mathias, Ben Hancock and Monty Taifili to our Whanau, all have turned out to be absolute legends and have slotted in very nicely.

There are so many memorable moments with the boy’s this year, from Luke McCoy’s daily prayers, to Dylan Jessop’s non-stop yarns about loving STEM, this year has been great.

Louie Gordon has continued to carve up at basketball, Neil Mckie has been a solid addition to the 3rd XV rugby team and Johnny McArdle was named the first ever junior to win Senior rower of the year.

I wish Jackson, Jeremy and Kieran all the best with their endeavours for 2021, I look forward to the progress we all will make over the holidays.
