27th Annual Variety Concert

Brendan Biggs —

The 27th Annual St Thomas' Variety Concert!

Alongside Villa Maria College, the concert was a spectacular showcase of talent. It was a night full of dancing, singing, skits, cooking, culture, and surprises, but most of all it was a night to remember. It was also the last variety concert due to the fact that the hall is being demolished later this year. That's the story at this stage...

The night's proceeds will go towards the Mental Health Foundation, which do incredible work in spreading awareness and compassion within New Zealand, especially in our own communities. Everyone is effected by mental health issues, which gave us all the more reason to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation, over $2500 in fact.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the people that made the night the brilliant clockwork event that it indeed was. To the many parents and caregivers, to those who donated their time and expertise, to MCs George Gibbs, Paddy Hansen, Janey Hansen, to all those who worked backstage, sound, lighting, and everyone in between, to the students, to the teachers and St Thomas' staff, Ms Guerin and Mr and Mrs Gaffaney, thank you.

Finally, thank you to those who sat in the crowd, to those who could not make it and donated anyway, the night would not have be the same without you.

The Variety Concert is a massive landmark along the winding road that is the STC cultural year; thanks again to everyone that was a part of it!
