Very successful rugby club day finished in style by the STC 1st XV winning 32-17 against Shirley Boys' High School 1st XV.

When I said before the game if every member of this team 1 through 22 went out and played to the absolute best of their ability the result would go our way... today, each and every one of you can say you did that. And the result shows you were not only better but were a level above Shirley!

From 2015 coach: “Wow boys … I just have to say that performance ranks up there in STC rugby history. We have only beaten Shirley on one other occasion ... in 2013 and that year they finished at the bottom of the ladder. Coincidentally that was the only other time I have seen an STC team take apart a top team physically and more importantly mentally. The image I saw at the end of the plate semifinal against Christ's college 2013 I saw again today in the Shirley boys as they threw everything at you and came up empty. When you scored that last try they were broken. That… men is the best feeling you can ever have… it is better than victory. The feeling of destroying a team.” … Steve Hart
