Auckland 2018

ER Student Conference

Led by Christian Brother, Damien Price, the 2018 Leadership Conference was centered in Tāmaki Makaurau, four of our St Thomas' Year 13 Leaders attended the retreat. The retreat was hosted by Liston and St Peters College, and was a chance for our leadership team to learn, connect and collaborate with all the leaders of New Zealand’s Christian Brothers schools. In attendance were the Leadership teams from the following schools - Kavanagh College from Dunedin, St Kevin’s from Oamaru, Liston College in West Auckland and St Peters from Central Auckland.

Throughout the conference our student leadership team gained insightful and valuable information of the values of Edmund Rice and the Christian Brothers, what it means to be a Christian Brother school, and were given skills and advice in their leadership roles. As well as this, the team was given valuable planning time and spent a day at special needs and satellite schools across Auckland, helping staff with their day to day activities.

All in all, a great weekend of connections and learnings. A huge thank you to Edmund Rice Co-ordinator from Liston, James Devereaux, and Br Damien Price from the Christian Brothers in Australia.
