Resistant Materials Technology

The Department has two main branches. Firstly, there is the Resistant materials Technology section dealing with hard materials and then there is the Design and Visual Communications class which is focused more on conceptual designs of products and architectural outcomes.

In the RMT classes, focus was primarily on skills building this year with majority of the time spent in the workshop. All elements of learning was around the concept of learning by attempting. Making mistakes and learning was a huge part of this process and the boys performed well. By the end of term 3 all year 11 students had completed their stools while all students made a commendable effort in year 12. With a few starting for the first time in the workshop, the learning curve was steep, however its projected that all students would successfully complete their cabinet project to take home.
