University Visit

In term one our year 10 science classes and the yr 13 physics boys took some trips to the university to have a look at the Electrical Engineering department.

The boys played around with some High voltage electricity( 400 KV) and climbed inside the faraday cage.

They then took a look at some mechatronics and had a go at some robotic contol and circuit design .They finished off the afternoon by moving into the electric motors control lab and had a go at simulating control of a hydro electric powerstation as well as building rotary and linear electric motors and electromagnetic levitation technology.

Thanks to the university and the STC staff who took the time to go with the boys. and help them become future engineers.
