Year 10 Camp

Paul Burton —

The year 10 Rite Journey boys have spent this week in the middle of Lewis Pass. Excellent weather met the boys on Monday with one of the stand out weather windows in the history of year 10 camps. The boys were split into 8 groups and completed tasks such as zip lining, river crossing, a 9 hour walk, bush craft, cannoning and many more activities. The highlight is often the solo evening spent in the bush where boys are asked to produce a shelter, and spend the night in it.

The class of 2018 can be very proud of their attitudes and effort on camp and will use these experiences to help overcome the life challenges they will face in the future.

This year group has also raised over $2000 for Mens Health in Canterbury with a particular focus on mental health. Special mention to 10JO who raised $980.

Well done men, what a great effort and great week away!

Thanks to the teachers for giving up their time away from family to grow and support you, Mr Lange, Mr Allen, Mr Washington, Mr Burton, Mr Muir, Mr Coll.
