The DVC students took a more holistic approach to their portfolios this year. While the year 11’s stayed with outdoor furniture design with the learning centered around inspirational designers and key design principles. The year 12 students sort to tackle the issues of isolation, time spent on devices rather than connecting with the people around them and issues raising from these. Collectively they went for upgrading outdoor areas that held meaning to them to make them more open and encouraging to socializing. The year 13 students tried a more adventurous portfolio looking at the effects of COVID 19, global issues of sustainability and climate change all the while not forgetting local issues such as cost of living, carbon emissions and work to life balance for a better mental health.
