What will replace the old C-Block?

Government during the year invited applications from Integrated Colleges in Christchurch to submit their respective cases for funds that had been made available on application to their Seismic Strengthening Fund. The college had to move quickly and with Principal Christine O’Neill coordinating all the required information in a very transparent and professional fashion we learned in October that we had successfully been granted $1.8 million.

Apollo Projects and IKON Architects were engaged to come up with a functional design facilitating a flexible modern learning environment. The build required high performance construction technology and systems.

From some of the pictures available you will see that the college is updating outdated facilities, creating smarter academic spaces, staying relevant but maintaining tradition and that the design is inspired by teaching styles and learning outcomes.

When students return for 2017 the build will be under way with a view to completion mid year.
