MASE 2019

MASE 2019

The year started by welcoming 3 new students into MASE Ben, Van and Brock. All fitted in well and contributed throughout the year.

Usually Monday mornings are very quiet and trying to get the boys to open up about feelings and thoughts on some tough topics is like getting blood out of a stone. But that all changed after the terrorist attack in March. This was a moment that all showed respect, emotion, and openness that enabled everyone to share their thoughts and feelings to help get through and reflect on what had happened. This is the first time I have witnessed our boys truly open up and something I will always remember.

We also say goodbye to six students

Year 13. Bowen Hodgson, Sam Sullivan and Christian McCoy.

Year 12. Keoni Gapper

Year 11. Sam Cassidy and Logan Grosvenor.

I would like to thank those boys for what they have bought and contributed to our mentor class especially to the year 13’s for the leadership and exciting activities they lead throughout the year.

Special Character Week

The activity day was a highlight for the juniors in MASE. Rorie, Ausin and Van enjoyed Fanta pong as we can see from the photos. And Ben enjoyed the basketball game. This was a day enjoyed by all and run well by the year 13’s of the school

School Fair

This was the first year our mentor class decided by vote what we were going to sell at the school fair. I was very impressed how the year 13’s organised themselves and the younger boys. The boys voted and it was decided they would sell bacon butties. Bowen and Christian sorted all the supplies, Rorie supplied the onions and the class decided a price.

On the day all the boys stepped up and assisted Bowen with cooking. It must have been the great value as we always had a line of 10-15 people waiting to buy as soon as a batch was ready it was sold.

After the busy hot day of cooking the class managed to raise just under $150 which was a great effort and I need to point out the effort both Bowen and Christian put into this.

Below is a prayer from Cameron Hancock for MASE

In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit. Amen

Dear Lord, thank you for all you have done for life on this Earth. Please forgive us for our sins we committed against the Lord. We are grateful for your love and respect towards us. Thank you for supporting us during tough times.
