Cycle Tours

Over the last two weeks, the year 12 outdoor PE class has been on a number of cycle tours around the South Island. One group cycled with Mr Leader and Ms Maxwell from Greymouth to Hokitika along the West Coast Wilderness Trail. The second group then cycled the 100km in the opposite direction with Mr Lange and Ms Heath. Both trips enjoyed good weather, great views of the outdoor environment and a chance to enjoy one of the country's unique environments.

Highlights of the Tours were eeling in Kumara, saving some kids on the lake (they paddle boarded too far out and couldn't get back in) and experiencing the wild west at Cowboys Paradise.

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, a third group cycled with Mr Lange and Mr Leader to Little River from Prebbleton along the Little River Cycle Trail. The 100km return journey was enjoyed by all even with a very wet trip home! 

While on the trips the boys completed assessments on Camping, Cycle Touring and Bike Maintenance.
