Physical Education Report

Brad Milne —

A vision without action is just a Hallucination.

A vision without action is just a Hallucination and for so long we have had this vision of a new gymnasium. Now that hallucination becomes a reality and we say goodbye to the gym that has been home to great learning and motivation towards Health and Physical Education, not just for this year but for the past 36 years since it’s opening in 1980.

We are truly spoilt for resourcing next year in the new space and with new beginnings comes new leadership. Andrew Auimatagi will take over as Leader of Learning for Health and Physical Education in 2017 to take the department forward in terms of 21st century pedagogy and practice.

Health, PE, Outdoor Education and Sports Leadership continues to allow many of our boys to thrive, learn, apply and enjoy their time in these subjects. The leaders within this department delivering the vast opportunities available to our boys work hard to make sure our boys find purpose in our subject areas and can relate the knowledge to the real world around them, while at the same time developing key skills that help them develop their Social Responsibility capabilities.

We look forward to the exciting opportunities that 2017 brings as we immerse ourselves in new surroundings.
