Chris Leader set to celebrate 100 games for Marist Albion

Marist Albian —

100 Games

Chris "Cous Cous" Leader joined our Marist Albion Colts as a fresh faced high school leaver back in 2008. Straight out of the St Thomas of Canterbury College First XV, having played alongside All Blacks 7's star Sam Dickson, Chris might have been small in stature, but he certainly made up for it in heart and calf muscles.

His talent and great pass soon caught the eye of our senior coaches and he was called into the Division 1 side in the 2009 season. He debuted at halfback vs Shirley at our old homeground of Middleton Park.

Chris has become a key figure in our senior side and the epitome of a team man. He has always been willing to play where he was needed, often playing close to a full game for our Division 2 side before fronting for our Division 1 side for another 60+ minutes of top level club rugby.

Off the field he has returned to his old stomping ground at St Thomas of Canterbury, this time as a valued staff member paving the way for the next generation of young boys and future Marist Albion stars.

Now, almost ten years on, Chris will play in his 100th game this weekend when our Premier team take on Burnside, at an earlier time of 1.45pm, on Saturday afternoon at Edgar MacIntosh Park.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Chris for reaching this incredible milestone and extend an invitation to all to join us at the Marist Albion clubrooms this Saturday to celebrate this achievement.
