STC - Student Coast to Coast Team 2019

Blair Scadden —

The Facebook Diary

Our Coast to Coast team arrived in Kumara and prepared for a big couple of days ahead. At 7am Josh Grosvenor will run off the beach and bike 55km before Cormack Tarrant tackles the 36km mountain run over Goat's pass. Then on Saturday Josh started us off again with a 15km bike then hands over to Cameron Brewitt to take on a 67km whitewater kayak. Josh will then finish the race with a 70km bike into New Brighton. Track the boys' progress on the link in the comments and get down to the pier on Saturday afternoon to cheer the lads in! Good luck!!!

Day one finished and the boys were in 2nd place with a time of 7 hours 18 minutes! Only 5 minutes behind first with the kayak and final bike still to come. Josh Grosvenor got the boys off to a great start on the bike before Cormack Tarrant did the big mahi of the day getting the team over the punishing Goats pass run.

A big day for Cameron on the water 67km of paddling followed by a 70km slog into Christchurch by Josh to finish the race after his earlier 15km sprint from Klondyke corner at 7.30am. Top effort lads let’s hope the STC C2C dynasty is just beginning. #manawa
