Scholars Cup

On November 6th, six STC students participated in the World Scholars Cup at Yale University. This is the 3rd round of the series and is considered the ‘Tournament of Champions’.
Only two teams from New Zealand participated in this tournament and STC had a higher representation of students, with both a Junior and Senior team. Both these teams competed against teams from 60 different countries through various academic challenges. STC has managed to walk away with some medals as well. The Junior team managed to finish in the top 10% of all debating teams. All results are pictured below. A big thank you to Daryl Sullivan who went away with the students and was on of the key organisers of the trip. Also a big thank you to the families of the students involved, who put countless hours of fundraising to make this trip a possibility.
