This is where you find regatta profiles. These can include: the extended details of a regatta, its online entry and results status, and any links to related regattas.

Last weekend the rowing squad had a very successful regatta at the South Island Secondary Schools Championships in Twizel. Overall, our school was placed 16th out of 47 schools entered which is hugely impressive given the small squad we have when compared to many of the traditional powerhouses of school rowing. When the girls schools are removed, STC finished 6th overall.

The regatta was especially impressive for Logan Anderson who won a trifecta of medals gaining Bronze in the under 17 quad, Silver in the under 17 double and a Gold medal in an incredible race in the under 17 single. As a result of his first placing, Logan was presented with an STC Rowing cap at assembly today, the first rower since 2015 to gain this achievement. Fantastic!

We were also unlucky to miss out on a number of other medals with the Under 15 double and Lightweight Double going to photo finish with our crews missing out on a Bronze by .08 seconds and .25 seconds respectively. The Novice eight was also unlucky, coming through heats as 2nd fastest qualifier but then suffering a breakage on their boat mid-race meaning they had to settle for 5th while rowing most of the race with only 7 rowers.

Top 5 Finishers from STC at the regatta were:

5th - Novice Eight - Dylan Bargh, Jack Coulthard, Jacob Craig, Luke Mangels, Jack Clinton, Kieran Prendergast, Jack Cunniffe, Finn Jenkins and Sam Wright

4th - Under 15 Double - Josh Dent and Will Topham

4th - Lightweight Double - Leon Barrowcliffe and Reuben Clutterbuck

4th - Under 18 Pair - Leon Barrowcliffe and Reuben Clutterbuck

3rd - Under 17 Quad - Logan Anderson, Jack Hurley, Ben Scarlett, Ethan Bargh and Ben Wright

2nd - Under 17 Double - Logan Anderson and Lachlan Sydney

1st - Under 17 Single - Logan Anderson
