Sacraments of Initiation at College Mass

Today we acknowledged the Saint Thomas of Canterbury Feast Day by celebrating Mass.

The Mass was led by Father John Adams and featured the Sacraments of Initiation for our students.

12 students were baptised, 13 received their First Holy Communion and 17 were Confirmed.

Students: Harry Eastwick, Jo Linggar, Jacob Banks, Lachlan Reid, Joel Reid, Taine Lambert, Tanae Lavery, Noah Parsons, Milo McFerrier, Ngakau Knowler, Jesse Varney, Mitchell Wall, Luca O'Malley-Philcox, Davis Wall, Josh Rea, Vinnie Kennedy & Jack Coulthard

The Confirmation names chosen by the young men reflected love for their family, pride in their College and love in hobbies - St Sebastian was the most popular name (he is the Patron Saint of Basketball!)

The Mass involved many people working hard behind the scenes, especially Mr Paul Donnelly and Stephen Kennedy.

Special thanks go to Father Rick Loughnan (Administrator of the Christchurch Diocese) for his guidance and support in preparing the students.

Mrs Bernie Lee did a wonderful job preparing the students for the last 15 weeks.

Thanks to the staff who were humbled to be asked by the young men to be Godparents and Sponsors.

I would also like to thank the wonderful parents, grandparents, whanau, Christian Brothers and the Christchurch Diocese Mission Team who joined us, especially those who travelled far to help make the event a special occasion.

We warmly invite more students to join us next year and become member of the Catholic Church.
