Year 10 Tea Ceremony

Elizabeth Kennedy —

On Friday 18th September, thirteen Year 10 students took part in a tea ceremony at Teasme Church Corner.

We were shown the steps to follow for a traditional tea ceremony including washing the tea, pouring the tea, smelling the tea and savouring the tea's flavour. After that we were informed about the many kinds of tea and their health benefits, and then we had the chance to try different types of tea - black, green, oolong and of course our favourite - bubble tea!

Huge thanks to the Asia New Zealand Foundation (who run the New Zealand Chinese Language Week) for funding our trip.
