MCPB - Report

Harrison —

The year started like any normal year at STC. Our house doing well in the swimming sports and having a great day out at Athletes Our mentoring class always enjoyed meeting on a Monday and checking in with each other. We enjoyed it even more if it involved a trip down to McDonalds on Yaldhurst Rd.

Little did we know that around the corner was a major pandemic. With very little warning or time we had the school and country in lockdown and with that a new way of learning….online learning.

For most of the mentoring class we were pleased to get our freedom back after 6 weeks or so and get back to school and another trip to McDonalds to celebrate.

One of the highlights of the school year is our special charter week. Every year we have the school fair to raise money for charity. We were particularly proud of how much money we managed to get with our simple bit effective throw the hoop to get a bag of sweets. Felise and Ethan showing tremendous business skills to entice money from people.

As we got use to the new normal of social distancing school life carried on more or less the same as we watched the rest of the world going into lockdown. This made us very thankful for living in our country indeed. One of the biggest shocks for us was of course the loss of one of our former teachers Mr. Mline. The school helped out with his funeral. It was held at our school, not only was he a teacher here bit he went to our school as well. Was such a tough day for everyone.

The year 2020 will be one to remember at STC. Everyone enjoyed our time in mentoring and school. We hope next year will bring lots of great new experiences and even a few trips to Mcdonalds.
