STC and VMC Variety Concert 2017

This year the annual STC and VMC Variety Concert will be fundraising for Maddie Collins, a 12 year old girl who is in need of $750,000 to fly to America to receive the surgery that will save her life. Earlier in her life, Maddie received a kidney transplant from her father, but unfortunately, this kidney was rejected by her body and the chance of finding an appropriate kidney in New Zealand is incredibly unlikely. Maddie is the sister of an old boy of St Thomas', and is required to be on dialysis for nearly half her life.

Maddie has a kidney disease called FSGS, and now requires another transplant which isn't offered in New Zealand. We need to raise the funds so Maddie can have a chance at having a long, meaningful life.

She only has a 2% chance of matching anyone in New Zealand so the most likely and best option for her is to have the transplant in America. There is urgency around her having the transplant as soon as possible as her health is deteriorating and she is required to be hooked up to a dialysis machine every day.

The Variety Concert will be a night full of music, drama and talent, and is an unmissable date on the STC/VMC calendar. Acts varying from pop songs to hip-hop dance, to boys just making dorks of themselves , will make you smile, laugh and cry, all with the aim to help one of the neediest people in our community.

If you are unable to attend the concert, but would like to donate to Maddie, you can visit her Give A Little page: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/givethegiftoflifetomaddie

Let's make this the biggest and best Variety Concert ever and #GivetheGiftofLifetoMaddie!
