Rice - RIKC

Brendan Biggs —

What is RIKC?

Interacting with other students. A place to chill. A place to have fun. A place where we encourage each other. A place where everyone is accepted. A place to try new things. A safe environment.

RIKC was fortunate to share the combined space of MS8 and MS9 with RIYS to join in combined activities on a Friday mentoring period and during weekday form time. Examples of activities that we all participated in were Human Hungry Hippos, lolly cake making, mini golf and just having a good old banterous time.

Our form class has a number of successful students. Joe Dravitzki came second in Rock Climbing Nationals. Matt Rogal got the Lafdal-Cookson Trophy (Rugby) for best trainer. Logan Elliot and his U14 STC Rugby Team made it to the final of their competition. Brad Blackler refereed his way around the country. Will Bartels made the 1st XV. Daniel Fogarty participated in the University of Canterbury Science Initiative. Malyche Tafili has a fantastic year in Rugby League. Mr Keri Campbell went with STC to Manu Korero and did a fantastic job in working with Maori events within the College.

RIKC would like to thank the seniors of the form class and Mr Campbell for their guidance and care throughout the year. RIKC wishes Will and Brad all the very best for 2016.
