Year 7 & 8 Duathlon

On Monday the 30th of March, our year 7 & 8 students participated in an event that has big missing for the last few years but re-ignited this year by the Year 12 Health students. The Middle School Duathlon was run again with huge success and was an enjoyable afternoon with a super hero themed race.

As part of the Year 12 Health course, students had to organise a Health enhancing project within our local community. There were four projects in the class which included a Middle School Basketball tournament at lunchtimes, promotion of positive health through visual posters around the school and then the upgrade and re-painting of the basketball hoops at the far courts. The last group then organised the Duathlon to be run.

The Duathlon meant that the students had to run two laps of the course with various obstacles, they then had to ride four laps on their bikes around a different course and finish off with another lap on the running course.

The winners for this event was Sam Wright in Year 7 and Finn Jenkins in Year 8,

Those that were unable to bring a bike on the day competed in the Fun-Run which was five laps of the running course. Winners were Josh Lennon Year 7 and Finn Jenkins Year 8.
