JOBR

Ben Rapson —

Some of the highlights from the year:

Here we are again, another year and another challenging year for all the staff and students at STC with Covid and a second lockdown. This time we were better prepared but none the less it doesn’t make things any easier. Our senior boys especially have found it challenging being towards the end of the year and closer to externals time. Our junior boys however have done very well this year and I have been impressed with their resilience!

This year sees the farewell to Tim Shepherd, a long serving member of JOBR. It will be very sad to see him go but I am also proud of what he has accomplished during his time here at the college and all of his own personal challenges that he has overcome. He is a solid student, a keen sportsman and most importantly a good man and we wish him all the best for his future.

This year we welcomed some new faces to the group in Ryder Hartley, Finley Archie Hayden Thompson and Farren Bayly. They have all settled into school life at STC well and been integral parts of JOBR in 2021. I am looking forwards to seeing how they all grow and develop during their time at the college.

It’s been fascinating this year seeing the changes in all of the young men in JOBR. Of course, there are the physical changes but what has been most interesting is how the boys maturity levels have changed and more and more of their personalities are emerging. I feel very privileged to witness and be a part of these young men’s journey into being young adults.
