JODR MENTORING REPORT – 2021

This year has been a year of success for JODR. Not only has our form group grown closer as a unit but the amount of cross-curricular and extra-curricular success has been immense. Matthew Pelenato led the way as the college’s Gospel and Spirituality Leader, maintaining the excellent management of the role set by Daniel Fogarty in 2020.

Our very own Marshall Johnston managed a first place in the Canterbury Secondary School Golf Championships, while Kaiden Turner managed a second place in the Canterbury Duathlon Series. Xavier Redmond received recognition at the rowing prize giving as the “Most Improved Development Rower” for the 2020-21 season and Harvey Cogle continued to impress on the athletics track, racking up an impressive list of achievements, most notably 1st in his age group at Athletics Day.

Ben Chapman was part of the E-pro 8 Engineering and Problem-Solving Competition Team which came first in the Canterbury Regional group. Our Year 11 group of Brooklyn Scott, Kyan Verbo and Mason Sullivan performed well in their NCEA standards with some commendable endorsements, and our resident Year 12s; Leo and Josh were also successful in their studies.

This year we farewell our year 13 leavers, Matthew Pelenato and Murriel (Marou) Dayritt. We wish both these young men all the success for the future.
