Athletics Nationals
Congratulations to the four young men who represented St Thomas at New Zealand Secondary School Athletics Championships in Wellington.
The boys had to fight the crazy Wellington winds, and to make it even harder, they also had to put up with the buckets of rain and the loud thunder!
In the end, STC had some very good results throughout the weekend;
First of all - AMAZING RESULT news!
Caleb Robinson and Liam O'Donnell teamed up with Villa Maria College in the 4x400m Relay, Liam is an experienced 400m runner, whilst Caleb has not run in many of these, despite this, the team managed an incredible 3rd place in the country!!!!!!
Joshua Price - 10th 100m
- 17th 200m
- 4th 100m Hurdles (Joshua missed out on 3rd place by 0.02secs)
Caleb Robinson - In his first athletics nationals, showed great effort in the 100m and 200m.
Liam O'Donnell - 10th 800m (Liam had a great race and missed out on a spot in the final by one second)
Daniel Prescott - STC's Junior Sportsman of the Year, would have had a chance at a high finish in the Road Race, however, due to huge thunderstorms, the Road Race was cancelled and Daniel was not able to compete.
Great job men!
