St. Thomas of Canterbury College revolves within an inclusive environment where everyone can express their cultural identity. I am glad that the school upholds the value of inclusivity as it's important for every individual to have a sense of belonging.

The Filipino community being recognised as part of the school’s cultural groups is something that I’m proud to be part of. Being part of a community allows Filipino boys to express their individuality and culture to one another. We had shared lunches for our Filipino activities, a time where Filipino students across year groups come together to have a feed and enjoy a good fellowship. Back in term two, we hosted the annual Filipino celebration dinner, inviting the Filipino families together. This lets the new students and families experience an inclusive setting along with the current and old. The celebration consisted of delicious food to feast, fun activities enabling parents and students to participate together.

The event enables the community to celebrate and be proud of the Filipino culture. The celebration dinner was a gratifying experience, able to witness the liveliness of everyone is something that leaves a positive mark for every individual. This has been an amazing year and it’s an experience to be cherished.

I like to give my thanks to the Filipino boys for being involved throughout the activities and everyone who continues to support the Filipino group.
