Year 10 Fundraising Run

Robbie Lange —

Rite Journey - Fun Run

On the 4th of August the St Thomas of Canterbury College Year 10's organised and ran a fun run as part of the Rite Journey Programme that all Year 10's do as part of the PE and Health Curriculum. The main objective of the run was to raise money and awareness for people suffering from mental health problems. One lap was around 1.6 kilometres and we all ran for 5 hours, starting at 9am and finishing at 2pm.

Each Year 10 had the responsibility to get sponsors and donations for the fun run, they also had to run a minimum of 5 laps. Nik Dravitzki of Rice house ran a total of 26 laps in 5 hours, which is equal to a marathon, it was a huge achievement. During the fun run the Year 10's managed to run a combined total of over 900 laps.

Huge thank you to all of the people who sponsored and donated money to this good cause. Huge effort from the boys. A total of funds raised will be announced once all money has been collected.
