Shave For a Cure

Lynley Gibson —

This year, the students have once again banded together at St Thomas to participate in the annual Shave For a Cure, which aims to raise money for those affected by Leukaemia & Blood Cancer in New Zealand. This cause is one that has touched tens of thousands of Kiwis over the years, in which 6 ordinary people are diagnosed with Leukaemia & Blood Cancer everyday in New Zealand. We have been full on with recruiting and fundraising for this event, and have now exceeded $13,000 in donations with over 50 students shaving. This year we have included our sibling school, Villa Maria College, in the undertaking of this event, to include girls who are passionate about the cause and do not have the same opportunity at their school.
This Monday, 8 April, we will be donating our fundraised money to the Leukaemia and Blood Cancer Organisation as we begin shaving heads and cutting hair after assembly. We have almost met our fundraising goal, and are really keen to surpass last year's total. We'd really appreciate any help in order to hit and eclipse our goal and give a substantial contribution to this great cause. To donate, click the below link and enter your in details.https://secure.leukaemia.net.nz/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=113968&langPref=en-CA
An electronic tax receipt will be sent to your email upon your donation.
Many thanks for your consideration and support!

Kind Regards,
