Farewell our Year 13s

Michael White- Captain Striker/Centre Back

Game Changer, Strong, Skillful and dominate are some words to describe Michael, in his 5th full year of first x1. Missed 6 games due to concussion at start of season. When back scored a vital goal against cashmere and saved countless others at the back. Made Canterbury United Youth and Played Men’s Premier League. Will be a huge loss moving forward as offered plenty on and off the field. Had the ability to change a game in a flash and teams feared playing him.

Jayden Hamilton

Fast and determined. Jayden player a vital role in his last year at the college, stepping up to mentor junior players and be a real threat as an overlapping wing fullback. Loved getting forward to score and was a menace in defence. Played Mens Premier League and this showed at school boy level. It has been a privilege watching him grow over the last few years and wee wish him all the best.

Ethan Apeldoorn

Strong, Fast and Determined. Ethan can knock a ball well over half way from a goal kick and can hit an impressive free kick. His ability to win the ball in the air was credit to the work he had done in the gym.

He played for a Premier men’s side Western and has been in the first x1 for the last few years. Ethan had an excellent season and few attackers made it past him. A very skillful player going forward from the back was a major threat to other teams.

Louis Andrews

Louis played most of the season before missing Tournament for National Athletics. Louis Pace was incredible, the quickest player in the league easily. He had worked hard on his passing and ball control to be a regular starter for the team. He by far was the most energetic, positive team man and always offered encouragement. Missing football tournament payed off for louis as he won a National Athletics medal.

Leon Barrowcliffe

2017 was Leon’s best year with the first x1, he can read the game like a master and has the skill to threat a pass like few others. His hard work and determination payed off this year through his selection to the Western Mens premier league team. He won most aerial battles and partnership with Michael as center backs went from strength to strength. Leon was a respected leader on and other the field. His work rate was incredible and always left everything on the field.

We want to thank all the sponsors and parents for the ongoing support and look forward to next season.

Thanks to Jacob Allen and Blair Scadden for their work behind the scenes.
