Covid-19 Protection Framework

Steve Hart —

Kia Ora St Thomas' Community

We trust you are all well as we head into celebrating the Christmas period. You will all be aware Aoteaora New Zealand has entered into the Covid-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System) and Christchurch is currently at Orange.

Your son's health and safety is of paramount importance. Following advice from Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, we will be required to verify vaccine passes for non-curriculum events.

Many of the venues we use for non-curriculum activities e.g. swimming pools (swimming sports), local sports grounds (sport matches) require a vaccine passport for students aged 12 years, 3 months or over. Examples of non-curriculum activities requiring a vaccine passport:

  • Community use of swimming pools or other facilities
  • Out of hours music and art, cultural
  • All sporting activities outside of school hours
  • Prizegivings involving wider community
  • PFA or parent group meetings
  • School balls or leavers' dinners
  • Fundraising events
  • Productions

We know that this is an uneasy and dynamic time. We will continue to communicate information regarding the Covid-19 Protection Framework with you as information comes to hand.
