Year 7 and 8 Parent Survey

Paul Burton —

Currently our Year 7 and 8 students have 300 minutes of Kinesiology where topics such as anatomy, relationships, social media, puberty and benefits of physical activity are taught. They also have 100 minutes of sport timetabled and in winter they will travel off-site to participate against other Christchurch schools. At St Thomas’ we believe that our young men need to be educated in not only key areas of the curriculum but life skills that will help them in a challenging, evolving world. For the remainder of Term 1 and later in Term 4, we will be teaching mental and emotional skills to our young men for 50 minutes a week. We will be developing and increasing areas such as resilience, emotional intelligence, self-regulation among others. We would like to get an understanding of what parents feel young men need help with to develop in to happy, confident individuals. Can you please spend a couple of minutes filling out this survey:
