JORF - Alfred our leader by RF

JORF - Report 2019

Rachael Fowler and Troy McGillicuddy - October 19, 2019

JORF - Student comment:

In JORF we had one yr 13 which was Alfred, throughout the year he matured but always stayed positive and the person you’ll turn to for a laugh or to talk about issues.

We didn’t get up to too much this year as a form class but we got closer as young men and talked a lot more throughout the year levels. It’s hard to say what an adventure would be for us as even in the form class eating food wasn’t easy as it was quite chaotic but it seemed like it changed each time it happened.

Sporting for our form class was at a new high with some boys finding themselves in higher performance teams for their selected sports and were achieving goals that were pretty high, but for when it comes to school sports is where I say our form class grew the most as swimming sports we were all there participating (except Bradley and I at course) and with house days and athletics we brought our "A game" and three all that we had at it and kept pulling new things out and pushing each other to do harder, faster and new things, we didn’t just succeed but I say we thrived with everything that happened.

Achievements on the sports fields wasn’t the only thing happening for us as a form class but in the class room as well, we had some high academic boys coming through and doing well in class and when they slipped the slightest or didn’t want to do it the seniors of our form class told them to keep going and striving which turned out to be what Mr Hart started to say in assembly’s for success.

With Alfred leaving it left a new role to be taken as head of form and with JORF we have two high academic boys who are great on the sports field as well and have balanced in class success with outside too, as if I’m accepted into the course I won’t be there half a week so they’ll definitely know how to work and run things with Rachael to bring a fun and great year to our form in 2020.

Kind regards Troy

JORF - Form Teacher comment:

2019 have been a quality year for JORF. We were led by the humble and humours leader of Alfred Esau – our resident year 13.

We had many achievements this year, Luke McLaughlin received his honours tie, Harry Hatton made it in to the Canterbury Under 13 Indoor Cricket Team and James D'Aloisio won a top student award. We presented a liturgy in a full school assembly, raised money for our special character week fair. Troy McGillicuddy carved up at our school athletics day and we all had a blast at our swimming sports event. We are also excited to have the 2020 Joyce house leader Luke McLaughlin in our very own mentor class. This year we welcomed Harry Hatton, Fletcher Moore, Henry Butler and Daichi Ito into our mentor class and they have settled in nicely and found their place in the STC brotherhood.

Unfortunately we say goodbye to our dear brothers Alfred Esau and Bradley Maple who are moving into the work force and to pursue further studies. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Thank you for a great year Leon, Caleb, Finn, Cameron, Jermaine, Fletcher, Luke, Troy, Hayden, Daichi, Harry, Joshua, James, Henry, Lucas, Seth, Bradley and Alfred.
