RIHB 2020

Mr Barclay —

RIHB

This year has been a great year for RIHB, with many students pushing themselves across a range of activities.

The year started with our year 13 leaders Ta’i and Tom who had great ambitions for the year. Our new students were greeted warmly in January. Sean, Henry and our transfer locking Lachie and after some fun activities building relationships, we had a great showing in their house activities athletics and swimming with Tom and Ta’i encouraging everyone to take part. Again, Toby was outstanding at swimming again while Josh and Alex lead the way at athletics to continue the strong history of RIHB in these events.

Lock down put a spanner in the works, but it didn’t stop the boys from connecting and working hard which laid the foundation for the rest of the year. Special character week was a triumph with our year 13’s as well as Kobe who

put it in the hard yards to create a great atmosphere. During the school fair we changed things up for the first time ditching our famous nachos in favour of $2 rice it was a gamble that paid off with a massive profit at the end of it .

The year has come to a close, but we look back fondly all that time and say farewell to Tom and Ta’i who have been here since Year 9 & 7. They have been outstanding servants to the school. We are all incredibly proud of Kobe in getting his leadership role as the Rice house Kiatiaki he will lead us well next year. A special mention must go to Alex and Josh who worked extremely hard during their level 1 year to both get endorsed with excellence in quick time.

We look forward to next year as we look to get stronger in building those connections.
