Rugby - 2nd XV Report
St Thomas Second XV had a strong season this year winning 4 from 6 first round games in Under 18 division Two (this was after a slow start to the year, due to a lack of numbers).
The second half of our year was quite up and down, largely due to low numbers at trainings and being hit with a few injuries. We ended up scraping into the top four, setting up a semi-final against St Andrew’s who finished in first place. We had previously beaten them in the regular season, so our confidence was high heading into the match. Although we won the game by one point, we unfortunately were unable to play in the final as two of our players were ruled ineligible (due to not enough games for us in the season).
Although this was not the end of the season we had hoped for, the boys were all happy with how far we came throughout the year. We overcame a number of obstacles to achieve some fantastic results that will be a strong platform for the team moving forward. It was a pleasure coaching these young men this year, who all showed huge growth both on and off the field. Thanks to everyone who supported us this year,
Andre, Tom and Vince. and Tom Tennent
