U15 Rugby Exchange with James Sheahan Catholic High School.

Chris Leader —

On Monday this week the under 15 STC rugby team faced off in a game against James Sheahan High School from Orange, New South Wales, Australia. The Australian catholic high school was on a New Zealand tour which saw them start in Christchurch and moving to travel around the country playing several high school teams. On Sunday, the day before the game the students form James Sheahan were billeted out to our STC men’s houses for a real kiwi experience and culture. On Monday the game was a quality battle where STC ran out victorious 38 – 18, but more importantly true sportsmanship was shown from both teams. After this another night of billeting was on for the touring squad before they were dropped off at school and moved on to their next destination on Tuesday.

Huge thanks go out to the parents of the Under 15 team for opening up their homes to allow the James Sheahan boys to stay and also to the parents who helped with the after match function. This was a great game and experience in preparation for the upcoming Japan trip and one that the boys thoroughly enjoyed.
