Agriventures at Lincoln University

Lynley Gibson —

Agriventures aims to offer Year 11 and 12 high school students, primarily from the South Island, an opportunity to discover the extensive array of career opportunities within the Agri-food/Agribusiness sectors that lead from Lincoln University Degrees.

The three-day programme will be held from the 10th – 12th July 2019, during which time selected students will experience university life at Lincoln by staying on campus and having ample opportunities to eat and chat with current Lincoln University students. Participating students will also have the chance to talk with liaison officers and lecturers to grasp a better understanding of university life. During the programme, students will be able to experience the career opportunities first hand through industry visits to Synlait, FMG, Barry’s Bay cheese and Foodstuffs SI to just name a few. The group will be accompanied by Lincoln University Future Leaders throughout the entire programme.

For those students who are not from an agricultural background, we don’t want them to feel disadvantaged – this programme is designed to give all the insight they need on the primary sector.

There is no direct cost to be involved in this programme. All we ask is that participating students find their own way to and from the event.
