MCJQ 2020 Report

MCJQ —

The 2020 year started with Judeena Quinn as the Mentor Teacher, but then she went on a wee maternity break just in time for the interruptions brought about by COVID-19. We were so happy to hear the safe introduction of Micheāl to the world and look forward to his attendance at STC one day.

SeYe Chan took over the reins during lockdown and used this ‘new world teaching order’ (on-line learning) to get to know the boys. Since the lifting of lockdown, the Mentor group has been very busy with fun inclusive activities such as the Guess Who and Connect Four Challenge, the Monday shared breakfasts where the boys contributed a small sum of money each to be provided with a regular healthy breakfast of toast, cereals and a hot drink. For Special Character Week, the boys sold popcorn and snacks outside while at the same time, did a large PS4 gaming session inside. All in all, it has been a very disruptive year for the mentor group, but I commend the boys for displaying resilience as they have supported each other through the fun times as well as the hard times. Bring on 2021!
