MCAS - form Report
MCAS 2018
As we said farewell to our year 13’s last year we welcomed some new members to MCAS for 2018. We welcomed Lorenzo and Connor as well as the rest of the group back including out new year 13 “leaders for the year Tom and Josh.
Last year MCAS shared space with two other form classes, which had its benefits but also some drawbacks. This year we had our own space, so we were free to set our own rules, set our own identity and be free to share with our MCAS brothers. This was the case most mentoring days, once we dealt with the business of the day and week there was always some lively and interesting conversations. At the forefront of this good-natured banter was usually Davis, Tom or Josh Phillips. These three always has a tall story, a funny anecdote or tale to share. These were always well received and generated much discussion and hilarity among the group.
MCAS always represented the class well and got stuck into everything at school. AT the start of the year at athletics and swimming sports the boys all stood up ns gave it all a go. Whether it was chanting, supporting or throwing a javelin. A real highlight for the lads during the year was the fair and St Thomas week. They all helped, made rice, sold kebabs and supported each-other in the games.
This was the theme as the year went on, the boys all started go respect each-other and it didn’t matter if they were year 8 or year 13, they all chatted, got to know one another and had a laugh. We shared a few breakfasts, a few games and as I said got stuck into school life.
MCAS members contributed to school life in many ways, there was Matthew with his Tennis, Cameron with his St John and Rowing, Harry with his artistic Flair, Tom going on the science trip, Josh Charlton racking up the runs and wickets for the first eleven.
Ngakau showed some skill for the mighty Preb and represented Ellesmere, he to was recognized by his team and was made captain which says a lot about his potential. Josh Doocey continued his unwavering support for Chelsea and the mighty second eleven football team. Will represented the school in many sports and was lucky enough to go on a trip away with great success. Josh Phillips managed to stay relatively injury free for him this year, lets hope this can continue as he ventures down some exciting school and course opportunities next year.
Tafao, Charlie and Anthony too showed flair in subjects and school life, Anthony showed great promise in technology and art and worked through most lunchtimes with dedication and promise. We Charlie worked and put his mind to it he achieved some pleasing results.
Overall it was a great year, one of many highs and one in which relationships grew and much fun was had. I can say I will miss the chats, the laughs as I move to a more overall house role next year. But the boys are in safe and capable hands with Megan Heather taking the reins and running the form class next year.
