Marlow Student House Report

Marlow House Report 2015

In 2015 the Marlow men showed great pride and honor for their house. The year saw many victories but also a few painful defeats. The gallant effort for the house cup fell a hurdle short as we finished 2nd behind McClintock. The beginning of the year saw us continue our supremacy in the water annihilating the other three houses at swimming sports, though our form in the water didn’t transfer on to the running track as athletics was a day many of us would rather forget. The brief appearances of Bruce challenges saw us edge our way back into contention for the cup, but slowly slipped off the ball during the can drive. Special character week brought new hope and as true Marlow men we rose to the challenge. Although our singing wasn’t up to par our warriors performed the school Haka with great mana and pride. By Term 3 and 4 the Bruce challenges had become absent and our chances for a comeback victory slowly faded away.

However words cannot express how proud I am to have led such an outstanding house and special group of men. It has been such a special feeling being part of an encouraging and supporting house, where we are all groomed into a culture where you know you belong no matter what. I guess it is the Marlow house spirit that is grown inside each and everyone of the Marlow men since they began their journey with the house. It is with a hint of sadness my journey has ended. But with the great support staff of the house I know that this house is one to watch in the future. Big ups to all the form teachers and student leaders that continue to lead this great house to the glory it deserves.

Good luck to Alex Coulthard and the Marlow men for 2016.

Delane Luke signing out.
