Student Wellbeing Group

Claire Burrough —

We know boys can often struggle to talk about what is going on for them mentally and emotionally. As research shows, talking helps. The student well-being group are wanting to set up a student-centred room where they can use different tools to help the boys calm, focus, re-energise and talk. This room will be used by teachers, teacher aides, counsellors, but also senior mentor students.

We are looking for help from the community. Firstly, we want to get a scenic mural to wallpaper one or two of the room walls. If any businesses are willing to support us, please let me know. We are also looking for the following items that might need a new home:

· Swiss balls

· Tennis balls (at least 20)

· Lava lamp

· Shakti mat

· Cushions to sit on

· Yoga mat

· Back roller

· Cush balls

· Rubix cube

· Puzzles

· Kinetic sand

Anything else that could be sensory/kinaesthetic that the students may enjoy. Thank you for your help.
