Thank you for leading our Pasifika students in 2021
A big Fa’afetai (Thank you) to our Pasifika parents committee led by Naomi Faga-Ieti(Chairperson) and Papalii Ramsay Sula for organizing and leading the charge with our events this year. We are blessed to have a group of passionate young men supported by a wonderful parents group which allows STC to celebrate and showcase our Pasifika culture.
SAMOAN LANGUAGE WEEK – UMU + AVA
Samoan language week’s celebration was kicked off with our students leading the assembly. Some other popular activities during the week included staff v students Volleyball game and Panikekes on sale. Our Umu (traditional cooking of food on hot rocks) didn’t just feed our staff and students but also gave the opportunity for students to experience and witness how a umu is made.
Our first Ava ceremony at the college in years was warmly welcomed and celebrated by students, staff and parents. Led by our Samoan language teacher Leuma Gali, students witness and actioned the traditional ceremony with pride.
