Condor National Sevens

Condor National Sevens

In November, the St Thomas' Sevens team went up to Auckland to compete in the prestigious Condors Sevens rugby tournament. It was held at Sacred Heart College and involved 32 of some of the finest rugby schools from around New Zealand. The boys were drawn in pool B alongside Aorere College from Auckland, Tamaki College from Auckland, and Scotts College from Wellington.

The team ended up finishing 3rd in their pool and putting them into the plate section, in which they finished 21st overall. In doing so they played some of the top rugby schools in New Zealand. An awesome effort to make it this far, let alone make it to the national competition.

At the end of the competition as per every other year, the Condors selectors pick a tournament team – this consists of the best players from the two-day competition. It was awesome to hear one of our own, Cormack Tarrant, be named and called out as one of those players. A huge effort to make this team and it puts him alongside some of the greats of NZ rugby. A huge thanks to Mr Biggs for managing the trip.
