Celebrating Samoan Language Week

Celebrating the 60th year of Samoa's Independence created a very special Samoan language week. The week started with Our Samoan akonga leading our school assembly. Presenting the Polyfest video to the whole school was a celebration of resilience as through many challenges and uncertainties a group of 30 akonga preformed the recorded set. Other activities during the week were well received.

The Po-fiafia (Fiafia night) and Manaia (fundraiser) event marked the first major Pasifika event of 2022. For the first time this year, our Pasifika community were able to gather. Together we celebrated Samoan language week through dance, song, and mea-ai (food) while raising around 3K.

A big fa'afetai (thank you) to Steve Hart, staff, parents, families and especially our sons for your attendance. Special acknowledgement of our Pasifika parents chairperson Naomi Faga, and the Pasifika parents who volunteered their services behind the scenes, Fa'amalo le tauivi ma le loto finau.

Ia Manuia, Nga mihi
